What is Family?

Two people of opposite sex get married and have children

who supports this definition of family:

basicly every culture that has ever existed or stays existing
The popular religions
Also nature supports it too: same sex can't procreate

The Importance of Family

Relationships should be the most important thing in our life For most people the closest relationships we have is in family.

Family should be more important than your job
Family should be more important than your community service
Your spouse and your kids should be your first priority

It is from a family that we learn most of the behavior of who we are.

If our family is doing good we can also

If our family is messed up we can get messed up

It can not be underestimated the importance of fatherhood or motherhood

There is inheritance from our parents from more than just genetics.

It is from a family that we learn most of the behavior of who we are.

The way we were raised as children often is the way we raise our children. The sins our parents have we can often inherit even if we don't want to. Maybe just because what we see others do is such a powerful influence on us.

I think this is some of how we can understand this Bible verse which describes God as punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.

Exodus 20:5
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.

My Testimony of Family

I love my Parents and my Brother and Sister
I learned how to be honest and not be a hypocrite from my parents.
I learned to show love and express love from my mom
I learned to have integrity.
Both of my parents have a lot of integrity and are honest.

I learned to be faithful to my spouse from my parents
I am so super happy my parents did not divorce.
I would probably be a total basketcase if they did.

I learned to have compassion and kindness from my parents

I learned to have nice vacations with my family from my parents

I learned the importance and benefits of spending time with your kids mostly from my Mom but some from my Dad
